245 standby during running

My 245 goes into standby mode during a running activity. The activity stops and all data are lost. Very bad.

I have seen, I can change the duration for the standby from 5 to 25 minutes. Any options to turn off this damn function.

Kind regards - Klaus

  • The watch should not abort the activity on its own, no matter what settings you have. Most likely your watch reboots during activity, as a result of either a software or hardware malfunction. Try resetting the watch to factory settings, and if this does not help, then contact garmin support.

  • If your activity is stopped (whether intentionally or unintentionally) and you do nothing, the device will default to saving it. The device will not delete the activity on its own. Ensuring you are up to date and then possibly resetting your device would be the next best steps.

If this does not resolve the issue and you are certain the buttons are not being engaged to discard the activity, we would need to gather some info from you to escalate this.
