Despite of being satisfied with Garmin support , which changed my first FR245 that was presenting clear accuracy issues regarding HR, I am deeply frustrated with the product. It happens that , unbelievely, the new watch I received presents the very same issues than the replaced one !! Indeeed I had to check its serial number to be sure that I had not received the same watch back....I do not know what else to do....At the first occurence , I followed all the instructions from the support team and nothing worked. And now, with a new unit, the same issue.... the watch simply do not capture HR accurately.... the watch stays at the 90 - 100 bpm level during a five minute stabilization run at actual 160 - 170 bpm (measured bu another device running concurrently) . Sounds clear to me that it has issues at the time of reading HRs while the watch is "shaking" like during running, this because it reads very well during cycling and walking, however by the time I start running (and movingthe arms more quicly) it stays at 110 bpm level.....whenever I stop running, but keep on walking for recovering, it suddenly shows after 30 to 40 secs reasonable values....The point is that I am running totally blind during the critical phases of the workout....
Maybe the solution is to buy the chest band and see if in this way it works fine and I "save" the investment..... but it was not what I was looking for when I decided for the FR245.
If anyone else knows how to fix that, please let me know....regards
