Seams like you have connected a foot pod, that is the meaning of the shoe icon. Please take a look at this table where you can find a description about the "shoe icon":

When you are on this screen press the Up button where you will see the GPS status icon, like this:
If it looks like this then your GPS is enabled as well and is trying to catch up satellites.
If it looks like this, then you have turned off your GPS (GPS has red X over it) or you have chosen some indoor activity type or activity type with disabled GPS:
