I had the 235 previously and had ok performance for about 2 years. It would be terribly intermittent at times when doing indoor routines eg from treadmill to rower to bike. Predominantly seemed to work better always on the treadmill but on the rower and bike, woeful. I saw the release of the 245 and eventually after some research though this model may be better at HRM. Disappointingly I forked out the money and its the same or at times worse than the 235. At max effort the HR just sits around 90-100 or at best 130 and doesn't move much. For the price of the watch and the age of the technology I think this is very poor. This is a specialist watch that Garmin make for this sole purpose and it doesn't cut it. Due to the intermittent nature I don't know if it's software or hardware. Maybe Garmin needs to go and talk to Apple. My old apple watch series 2 has no such issues and if it wasn't for Apple's crap interface and recording I'd go with them instead. Very disappointing.
