No Whatsapp notifications on Garmin 245 music

Hi all,

I can`t receive whatsapp notifications on my Garmin forerunner 245 music even if it seems correctly configured. I saw the wahtsapp app for android has been recently updated...maybe something to do with it ?

    I am now testing it with other apps and it doesn`t work also with calendar, gmail and so on. It only works (the watch correctly vibrates and shows info) in case of a phone call.

    Really don`t know what could be the reason...

    Solved by removing and reinstalling the Garmin Connect application :)

    Unfortunately The issue happened again. I have reinstalled the app, but the notification happens on the watch only for few times then it stops. Weirdly, the phone notifications work.

    Anybody has an idea ?

    Unfortunately the solution I found it is not definitive. After reinstalling the Garmin app on the phone, the watch would show the whatsapp notifications only few times, but then it stops working. 

    Can anybody help with that?

    do you use a 3rd-party watchface? I'm not really sure about it, but I've had the same issue. After reinstalling the Garmin Connect App on my Huawei Android Phone it works for a day. Then I changed the watchface and immediately the notifications stopped working. After changing back to one of the onboard-Watchfaces and reconnecting the watch with my phone two days ago it worked again and it works until now. I will monitor this the next days.

    Indeed I use a 3 party watchface...i will try with reinstalling the default one. Looking forward to know if keeps on working for you !

    On Android, if you go to the menu using the icon in the top left, you can go to Settings, then Smart Notifications and select which apps are allowed to be shown on the Garmin device. By default, a lot of them are disabled.

    I am having the exact same issue. Uninstalling the app, returning watch to default settings etc and the notifications appear for a few times and then stop appearing. Does anybody know if a solution was found?
