Iq! Ij screen

from this morning I'm seeing iq! in my forerunner 245. When I press one of the buttons I'm seeing the watchface again.

What is this? And more importantly: how to remove this?

Already switched the watch off and on again, no help.

I don't have any app installed, just one watchface and it is the latest version.

go first with this advice, please...

You really don't want to go in and edit garmindevice.xml.  Use GCM, or the Connect IQ app on your phone or use Garmin Express to delete it but only do that if you can't switch to another watchface before reaching the developer.

You also probably want to save off the garmin\apps\logs\ciq_log.yml (or bak) files as most devs would want that, as it details why there was a crash.

Which CIQ watchface was being used and what version of firmware is on the watch?

a fault with your CIQ watchface Slight smile or Garmin

contact the developer directly via the ConnectIQ store...provide a real email address

    ...

hold the menu button and change the watch face to stock

    not working ?

    connect to a computer

    open file garmindevice.xml

    search for your watchface name

look for the watchface file name, reads something like xxxxxxxx.PRG

delete this file in your apps folder

    restart the watch

    result ?

    happy & safe sporting

? something wrong with my writing ?

    only tell to...

  • Simple.  It's a risk and may not do what you want.  It's best to uninstall things in the standard way.

Instead of editing the file, and if the standard way fails, it's actually safer to delete the .prg file from garmin\apps.

  • Sorry.  the "open the garmindevice.xml" freaked me out and I stopped reading! (it's still way early for me)

Using GCM/GE/the CIQ app would be the preferred way and should work.  especially if you switch to another WF.

  • Similar issue - custom from IQ face watch missing, can't install any watch face,

    only default...

  • OK, turn off - on - working again
