Failing to calibrate Treadmill run

Former Member
Former Member

Hi there,

I purchased new 4runener 245 and I did the Treadmill calibration after the 1st run. But the calibration never stay and showing wrong pace and distance in the next run, mean I need to do the calibration after each run! and this is not the only issue, although I do the frustrating regular calibration and my connect profile showing the calibrated run, Garmin every time shares the non calibrated run with Strava?!!

BTW, I also set the Treadmill activity to default but the issue still there

Please Advice Disappointed

  • Please Note: The calibration on the whatch only appears if you run at least 1.5 kilometers (1 mile??????). If your watch only detect less then this range, the calibration option is not visible.

Hi, have the same problem, I run 5k it says 3k. I calibrate and save, then the next time the same thing. Did you call Garmin support?  I’m wandering what were they saying? Because I called them and they told me that as long as they don’t have many people reporting this issue, they will not fix it. I find this ridiculous. I am running the latest firmware available

Please are you so kind to let me know what happened with your watch now, did you managed to find a solution?

    thanks

Yes 245M, and I'm using a TM every day. I know. Did you call Garmin Support by phone?

I live in Australia and found they have only US phones number.

They should have at least email support. Contact them and complain.  It’s very important to have as many users complaining about this. Otherwise they don’t do anything

I opened a customer support ticket weeks ago on this and then started replying to Garmin posts on social media. The latest reply I received via a DM was this...

"I reviewed the case and it’s been escalated. With that being said, we don’t have any updates on when this will officially be resolved.

I truly appreciate you sharing the forums and Reddit posts with us. I do know we have a number of engineers monitoring various pages like that. However, if you know of other people experiencing this issue, I ask that you tell them to officially report it to our support team. At this time we’ve only had 8 people report this problem and the more data we collect from our customers, the easier and faster our engineers can work the problem.

Another temporary workaround in the meantime is to edit your activity in Garmin Connect rather than resetting your watch. Again, I go apologize for the problem. We appreciate your patience as we work to fix this issue.

If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out again."

I reported this a week ago. No answer. Regret buying the 245 now.
