Wrist HR Light Can Not Be Disabled

Hello.

After having my watch connected to the chest strap via ANT+, the wrist sensor continues blinking. I disable wrist HR from settings, but it still keeps blinking. I’m not sure whether it gives me the heart rate info through wrist sensor or chest strap. (Chest strap shows connected in settings, just replaced the strap battery today) I didn’t have this problem while using my previous device, Vivoactive 3.

Besides, in general use, i turn off the wrist HR from settings, heart rate widget shows no data which is a sign that HR sensor is disabled, however the green light still blinks.

By the way, i really had a hope that Garmin might have improved it's latest HR sensor for interval types of exercises like weight training but i'm just disappointed. It performs even worse than my previous Vivosmart HR in terms of heart rate accuracy in Gym.  I know my pulse is around 140+  but my FR 245 shows 90-100 bpm. I just shaved my wrist to let the device read more accurately. But restarting, wiping off, changing wrists (to right) doesn't solve the problem. I really don’t understand how can an Apple Watch 4 beat Garmin in terms of heart rate accuracy ?

I was just able to recreate this on my own device after turning pulseOX on. I will be creating an engineering ticket and escalating this issue.

  • Hello. Thanks for your help. I'm so sorry that i coudn't see that thread before starting a topic. I'm new to this forum.

No, it isn't that bad Slight smile But Garmin will go bad if it doesn't give up selling the same elevate sensor and adding nothing in terms of interval HR performance accuracy.

After resetting my watch, wrist HR blinking disabling trouble seems to be solved. However, i realized that the device starts itself as Pulse ox off and bluetooth on. Needs an update !
