User experience and feedback on 245M

Hi all, I’m thinking of purchasing the 245 Music and am interested to know most people’s experience with it including ease of use, GPS/HR accuracy, features, quality of build and any issues etc. I’m coming from a 935 but looking for a running focused watch with the latest tech. Thanks.

I got the replacement yesterday, I've walked several times with it (around 10k), tried GPS soaking at home and at work, seems just a bad as before. I'll take it out fro a run tonight but so far I'm very disappointed.

Here is the update of this evenings run. My actual route is marked in blue. It should be better than this, right?

  • Hi,

Very good description of the watch and characteristics.  I experience the same, except for battery life; mine is between 4-6 days depending on how many sport sessions per week.  I do not use music, no notifications, no permanent BT connection.  I do use every second HR recording.

Have you done something specific (settings, usage, ... ) which results in your ecperienced battery life?

Thanks for taken the time to respond my question.

    Regards, Fer

  • Hi,

    This is way too off.

I did an interval run yesterday with gps+glonass following a nearby walking path not following the road and with high trees nearby.  Must say gps recording is accurate.  See screenshot below.

Do you connect and sync to Garmin before your run?

I've synced the watch several times via Garmin Connect, and Express since I picked it up on Tuesday. I didn't do it immediately before the run. I have also left the watch to GPS soak 3 times - once by a window at work, twice at home in the back garden.

  • Hi

The clock only has problem with the step sensor which is very inaccurate, it counts steps moving with hands.

The 245 is a solid running watch. But not more. If you do not need features of the 935, than there is no reason to buy it. It is totally overpriced as 245.
