Feature request - open water swimming

Maybe the following question has already been asked multiple times, but are we ever going to see open water swimming added to mid range watches such as the 645 or the 245? Is’s a bit of shame Garmin is treating this activity as a sort of elite one, whereas instead I guess there are more users practicing OWS in comparison to triathlon or golf.

Unfortunately I did not have the same experience. I did the same, but both times, on Long Island Sound (close to NYC), the total length recorded was 0ft (instead of some 3000 yards). With GPS and GLONASS activated. Too bad... I thought that would be a simple work around.

I've tested this several times by creating an activity for swimming in the sea (in a very clear environment) and my 245 has never indicated more than 0 meters. The watch is not adapted. So I make my own measurement and add the distance manually.
