245 Music headphone list change - am I out of luck forever?

Just bought the 245M along with some Powerbeats. An older Garmin headphone compatibility list said that Powerbeats were compatible. It would seem that a more recent list has changed that.

I definitely tried the standard pairing option and while I confirmed the Powerbeats pair just fine with my phone, the Garmin can't find them.

Edit: Solution found!!!

The answer wasn't on Garmin's side (sorry Garmin - my excuse is that there wasn't solid or consistent information on your end).

For those who are having problems pairing with Powerbeats or any other headphones, hopefully this works for you. I followed the directions provided by the headphone manufacturer to try to pair as if the device is Android. There were separate directions from normal pairing (figures since Powerbeats is now Apple) and MAGIC! They paired with full functionality.

Hope this helps someone.

What list did Garmin publish that says they once supported your Powerbeats and now no longer support them?  Is it issues with the latest FW version?  I have a FR945 and someone posted issues with the Bose SoundSport Free's and that watch. I received a pair as a gift last week and they're working perfectly with my 945.  It's odd how some headphones work some people, but not for others.

    Great question.

    List 1:

    List 2:

See my problem? Also a good question about FW - I'm not sure if it an issue with the latest version since I just got the watch and it either already had the latest version or it had loaded it on setup, but am willing to go back to a previous iteration if that will make a difference...or hold on if Garmin says they're going to improve their headphone support with upcoming FW versions.

I wasn't aware that Garmin posted a list. Yes, I see the problem.  If your Powerbeats had a FW update, all bets are off. Garmin can't be expected to cater to every manufacturer's updates. If that's not the case, then Garmin should make their FW updates compatible with existing products they list as compatible.

Agree 100%. I'm hoping someone from Garmin support sees this and can assist before I box up the watch (haven't even worn it yet!) to return it. The idea that I could have everything I wanted on my wrist (needed the battery life that the Apple Watch doesn't offer) seemed like it would come from this unit. Hoping they can say support is coming, and then if it is lost because of a PB FW upgrade then I can contact them instead.

Not sure how to close this out (or delete it) but I found the answer...and it wasn't on Garmin's side (sorry Garmin - my excuse is that there wasn't solid or consistent information on your end).

Anyway, for those who are having problems pairing with Powerbeats or any other headphones, in this case I followed the directions to try to pair if the device to pair to is Android.
