Headphone pairing on 245 Music

I have been having difficulty getting headphones to pair with the 245 music. The watch will recognize the headphones, I confirm that I want to connect to them, the headphones confirm that I am connected but the watch just keeps searching on. Not sure if I am doing anything wrong or if others are having similar issues.

Thanks

  • Im having the exact same issues. My Headphones are paired but it won’t connect and play music which is very frustrating, I’ve had the watch for 2 weeks and it all worked well until this  week, i contacted Garmin and they informed  me that there has been a firmware  update since i bought the watch and this might be the issue,  they also told me i should be using one of their certified approved Headphones (theirs a list of ten) and this is a load of tosh as it’s a simple Bluetooth pairing. Anyway, Im currently using MPOW headphones, so i borrowed my friends Aftershokx Trekz which are approved by Garmin  and im still having the same issue. Garmin sort it out as please, we are buying this watch because of the music feature and its not working.......................... QQ Does anybody know what Bluetooth frequency the watch uses?? is this the issue or is it the software update.? Very annoyed and mines going back if the bug is not fixed shortly.

  • I found that if you "Unpair" your Bluetooth headphones you should also remove them from the Headphones List. Pair your headphones as if they have never been paired with the FR245.

I'm using a pair of Jabra Elite Sport headphones but as they can't pair with multiple devices I'm just going to use them with the FR245, which is running Firmware Version 2.60.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind Regards.

  • tried that- ive also tried other branded headphones such as Trekz and still the same issue

  • I have the Jabra Elite 65t headphones and have to completely delete them on the watch and re-pair every time I run (even if I haven't paired them with another device in the interim).  Somewhat annoying but I'll live with it and hope a future firmware update to the Jabras or Garmin fixes the issue.

  • unfortunately I had to send the watch back to wiggle today, ive exhausted all the possible fixes that garmin suggested- really put me off going for another garmin music watch...…...back to my trusty old 230 and my mighty vibe- 4 years old and never had a problem..

  • Sorry to hear that the FR245 didn't work out for you. The Jabra Elite Sports are working well for me as long as I keep them paired to the watch and don't use them with my phone. Once they are out of the case the watch and headphones pair without having to be reset. Question re the Mighty Vibe - is it Spotify only, or can you manually transfer music from an iTunes library?

  • That's weird - I have the Jabra Elite Sports and they reliably connect to the FR245 straight out of the charging case, as long as they haven't been paired with my phone in the interim. If they have, then I have to do the same as you and go though the deletion and re-pairing process which is a bit of a pain. As you say hopefully future firmware updates will resolve these issues.

  • Spotify only- great little gadget that pairs seamlessly with any decent headphones- unlike the Garmin 245M

  • Thanks - We don't have Spotify at the moment, but might look into it. Looking at these posts I was lucky with the Jabra Elite Sport headphones. I actually got them before the 245 came out. Like you I would have been really PO'd if they hadn't worked. As long as I don't try and sync them to my phone they are pretty stable with the watch, and amazingly haven't had any drop outs whilst running.
