24/7 hr

I have read that past Garmin watches have accuracy problems for 24/7 wear due to the varying sample rates for the Elevate OHR. The problem as I understand it is that you could go from sitting to standing and walking around and the watch would register a very low HR as the 24/7 power levels perhaps do not include filtering for movement. Does anyone understand this issue and know whether the Gen3 Elevate handles it better? I also wonder if poor handling of non-workout HR would affect the Body Battery.
  • The issue with older optical sensor was that due to battery constraints, the sensor sampled at varying intervals, depending on your current level of activity (sampling more often when moving, sampling less often when sedentary). The latest elevate optical sensor samples at 1 second intervals, so is much better in this area.
