I'm profoundly unsatisfied with 165

Well,
I already sent messages to Garmin regarding the inaccuracy of the heart rate monitor of 165. The solution, I have to say sounds very weird to me. But, at least one solution. The said they are able to deliver an  Chest Strap!! But, always they have a but. They cannot deliver to outside US. What a globalized world, indeed.

So, despite the software version my 165 since new has been showing a wrong heart measurement. I already did all the procedures you'd think . Nothing

Just an example of what I'm talking about. And, it's happening frequently:

As i've said. disgusting. For this kind of inaccuracy I should have purchased a much cheap one.

  • That looks normal - for garmin.  Next time I think i will try a Coros as their wrist based hrm seems to work adequately

  • I always have had good references about Garmin. They are one of the most famous GPS and nautical equipment supplier. But, yes, I'm realizing it. This is really bad.

  • I got it 8200561!

But it doesn't make any sense, since the hardware is almost the same for registering HR whatever the model is.
But, I believe. Difference could be the reason.
Other important point is the fact that this kind of hardware are so cheap... A brand with the prestige as Garmin, putting it at risk.
And yes, some times they register rates above, others below as they really are for several minutes. No matter if you are just seated or during a running session.
I have an Polar HR strap. I'll use it next running session and will compare the readings.

  • I've noticed several times same issue.

It was twice during rainfall, probably improper contact between skin and watch !

recent activities no issues anymore, but also no rain during my activity Slight smile

  • Yes, RvSluijsNL, same pattern. for sure.
Your point is good. Remember now, two sessions under rainfall, seems to have had poor measurement.
Other way, but probably the same issue (water). I'm used to run in very hot days as for the one that generated that graph. Sometinhg abot 36C° or 97F°. That said the wrist had been very wet, indeed.
