Cadence Lock

I have been running into issues with Cadence lock on my watch. I think it's mainly my shoes fault, not the fault of the watch, but I've been using the Garmin Connect+ training plan, which I love. The problem is when I get Cadence Lock on a long run, it things I raced it and the plan gets drastically changed. Is there a way to have the Connect+ plan disregard heart rate data when Cadence Lock happens?

  • Body movement and muscle flexing change wrist blood volume. This creates strong, dynamic signals that make it harder to accurately detect the smaller heart rate signal. This can cause cadence lock on the device, some other factors include cold weather, device fit, and lack of a warm-up. You can prevent these this by warming up for around 10 minutes on cold mornings before starting your activity. In addition to this, make sure you are properly wearing the watch. If you heart rate accuracy is critical we suggest using a Garmin Heart Rate Monitor for the best accuracy.
