Music library not available

First weeks I could listen to my Spotify playlists I downloaded on my watch without issues.

However, when I want to start music now it says: "music library not available. close app"

Both when accessing from 'hold down' as when I access via the music menu => providers => spotify.

- close en restart connect and watch doesn't work

- reinstall Spotify doesn't work, and when I do it doesn't ask me to link Spotify again

- restore settings doesn't work.

Anyone else experienced this issue and knows how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

  • Same.  Garmin Forerunner 255 music.  it's happened twice now.  The only fix is to completely uninstall/reinstall Spotify and resync music. It's like the library completely disappears and it just gives the message  "Library unavailable. Close your app to access" when you hold the lower left button to access music.   Watch and app are on the latest versions.

Edit: to add the specific steps I had to do this time
    1) Plug watch into PC.  Connect with Garmin Express.  Uninstall Spotify in the Garmin Express IQ apps menu
    2) Remove watch from PC and Power on/off
    3) Connect to watch via mobile phone bluetooth, and open Garmin Connect App (App#1)
    4) Connect to watch via mobile phone Garmin Connect IQ app (App#2...this one was new to me...)
    5) Reinstall Spotify via Garmin Connect IQ App#2
    6) Access Watch -> Music -> Music Providers -> Spotify in the Garmin Connect App#1 and after multiple attempts it will eventually prompt you to login to Spotify.
    7) After this you should be able to access Spotify library on your watch and resync your music

Unknown if Step#1 could be done via one of the phone apps as well.  I'll have to try that if/when it happens again.  And, yes, "Garmin Connect" and "Garmin Connect IQ" are two completely separate apps.  And be prepared for a barrage of security code logins.
