Run/Walk/Run Alerts for Garmin Coach Jeff Galloway - Help!

Hello everyone!

I'm a returning runner (40+) using Jeff Galloway's 5K plan on Garmin Coach. My old Venu 2s was dying, so I bought a Forerunner 165.

On my Venu 2s, I used the Garmin Coach Companion: Jeff Galloway app for run/walk/run alerts, which was perfect. However, this app isn't compatible with the Forerunner 165.

This is a huge issue as Jeff's plan is almost unusable without these timely alerts on my watch. Is there any way to get reliable run/walk/run alerts directly on the Forerunner 165 for the Garmin Coach Jeff Galloway plan without needing to carry my phone?

    I've actually tried setting up custom alerts and workouts on my previous Venu 2s and now on the Forerunner 165. The issue is that Garmin Coach workouts seem to override any custom alerts or run/walk settings when you're following a coached plan. This is why the Garmin Coach Companion: Jeff Galloway app was so crucial for my Venu 2s

    You could try this 3rd party data field: Run and Walk

    It doesn't integrate with Galloway plans like the other data field you mentioned tho. So you would have to manually set fixed run/walk intervals. I see that the field you mentioned is actually able to read the workout notes to tell the difference between "normal" (moderate distance) runs and "long" runs, although it seems that you still have to set the respective run/walk paces manually.

    You could also open the store page for the Garmin Coach Companion: Jeff Galloway data field, press Contact Developer / App Support, and ask the dev if they would make it available for Forerunner 165. I see that the source code is freely available on github, so you could also post in the following forum to see if any dev would be willing to upload a clone of the app which has support for your device:
