Multiplied display during activity on Forerunner 165 Music

I came to the forum for the same thing. It first occurred last friday after the update to Beta 22.24.

Are you in the beta program too?

The weird thing is, that this multiplied screen and the regular screens alternate. Sometimes the normal or scambled screen stay on for km's at an end sometomes for only a couple of 100 meters. The problem is not related to a specific screen, it happens on all data screens and even when on the pause screen, or the screens after saving.

Hi Vincent, thank you for your message, which helped me to find out the cause of the glitch. It is because of Beta 22.24 as you write. I have left beta, but the problem still occurs. same here, since update 22.24. Unacceptable that they force this update into the watch without proper testing. Shows poor respect for customers

Although this is a very annoying and unfortunate bug, they don't force anything. If you have version 22.24, you are on the beta program and you don't enroll in the beta program by accident.

i think version 22.24 is not beta anymore. i dont believe i'm in beta program. forums.garmin.com/.../forerunner-165---software-version-22-24---live

edit: i just re-checked, and indeed i'm NOT in the beta program.

I see now. Apparently this version has now been released to everyone.

That raises the question why have a beta program at all, if you release a version with major issues that we're reported during beta testing anyway.

Same problem here, noticed it yesterday (13-3) for the first. Hoped it would be a software thing and not my watch itself. Thought so since i updated it that morning. Hope they're going to fix it fast because reading the data is hard for me now when I'am running.

I also have had this issue twice on the FR165 and it started after the 22.24 update a few days ago.  It happens during a coach workout and during an activity, and only after some time in the activity (say 20 minutes).

It looks like some form of memory overflow, where the program has overwritten the lower part of the display memory with data.

The screen seems to clear after I save the activity, although it is hard to save, as the screen is corrupted while doing this.
