FR165 paired with HRM Dual

When my 165 is paired with the HRM, I noticed that the WHR sensor LEDs are still flashing during the Run. Should the LEDs be active during an activity when an HRM chest strap is connected? My Venu SQ 2 DOESN'T do that.

There was a change in the way Garmin handled this a few FW versions ago. If you search the forum incl the 965 955 255 and 265 forums you will see a number of items on this. They then implements an option to choose the way source switching works through the HR Glance (for some HRM's).

If when you start activity you see se a pop up saying External HR detected/connected. Then it's fine and it's working.

Both watch and chest band are recorded and then the better source (chest in this case) being selected and showed to you in the activity.

Also you can try and select heart rate glance, take off the watch, btu have chest band on and you will still get hear rate readings.
