Gaps in Sleep HRV Data

I'm occasionally getting gaps in my overnight HRV data. Interestingly I get a higher average HRV score, which I'm not sure is entirely accurate. It's probably also affecting my RHR score?

Firmware 20.32

Maybe for this graph I should get a warning that there may not be enough HRV data for it to be accurate?

  • Still getting gaps along with higher overnight HRV, causing an unbalanced status. It seems to happen more frequently than before. I've read the explanation about quality, etc. but I've tested using my VA5 on a different arm and it's fine without these gaps and the HRV is also in my normal range. I'm going to try again swapping them around to different arms.

  • I just noticed that the HR sensor was much dimmer than usual and didn't want to go to normal brightness. I had to restart the watch to get it back to normal. Could being stuck in this dim (low power?) mode be causing the HRV issues by falsely detecting low quality readings?

  • No noticeable issues with the sleep HRV tracking after restarting the watch after noticing the dim HR sensor lights. I swapped wrists as well. The VA5 had no issues on my left wrist.

I copied the device folders before syncing so if you need the fit files I can supply them. I should also have copied the folders from the 165 when the sensor was dim. I know previous explanations were that the HRV issues are caused by low quality readings, but maybe the dim lights cause the issue with the readings? You have permission to email me.
