Does this always happen? Has it changed or improved or is it still happening?
I thought I may have experienced something similar. I charged my watch to 91% and lost about 4% in about 4 hours (1% per hour), which is more than usual for me. It was just lying on my desk with the display off, so it should have been much less imo. But after that it was fine. Maybe something was running in the background or maybe it was just the initial discharge.
Here's a discussion about some people experiencing something similar: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-965/344835/high-battery-drain-after-fully-charged
btw, from what I've read it's better for the battery if you don't charge to 100% and also not completely discharge it. I've seen different numbers, but keeping it in the range of 20-80 % or even 40-80% could help it last longer ito charging cycles.
I've noticed that after charging the first few % drains faster than usual. Then it stabilizes back to normal.
It doesn't happen on my VA5 and I'm getting a bit frustrated and disappointed with the 165, there are a number of small issues that if fixed would make the experience better.
The same happened again this morning. Charged it to 86%. Displayed 87% right after I unplugged it. Then drained quickly to 84% before stabilizing. Maybe there's a bug with something happening after charging, or maybe the battery level is being misreported. There have been similar reports with the 965.
