[Solved]Power Save mode 3-5 times per day without reason

Hi,

I have this issue starting from unboxing of brand new watches.

All software versions affected including latest betas (and stable as well)
Forerunner 165 Series (With Music)

Without any reason, without starting activity or half-starting activity, or any button press I get this notification regarding Power Save mode 3-5 times per day

I also saw on reddit that there are same bug on many other models for years, are you planning to fix that or there are only option to get another watch?

It does vibrate every time and requires interactions

  • I also have this behaviour  but on a Forerunner 165 (not Music).
I get it maybe 1 time peer week, and NEVER when battery is low. Slight smile

I got it few seconds ago, and battery is 96%.

    Should I be worried?

  • That is linked to an activity being open and not activated. It is not battery level related. It happens every now and again on my 965 as well.

I am not sure if sometimes I bump the start button and enter an activity or something else happens.

You would get the same think if you open an activity and do not start it with the defined period . The aim is to reduce power usage as opening an activity increases the power applied to various sensors .

  • When this happens, if you press a button (like UP or DOWN) before the countdown expires, does it take you back to an activity? If so, then it at least indicates an activity was somehow opened (not saying you did it, this could still be part of the bug).

If something else happens, then it might be an even weirder bug. I'd be interested to know what would happen in this case, and it would be something that you could mention to product support if you decide to reach out to them.

I tried beta as well, reported a bug, but still no updates for 5 mo
with any button pressed it does return to activity, but that activity is not even in my quick select list
and first activity is "weather" so accidental clicks on buttons should also just open that widget, not to wait for activity and start power save mode because activity is not started
It does happen much less now with few software updates (I mean not every single day by 2-3 times, but still happens)
