Installed without problems but also without any release notes.
Just some rumors that indoor pace was added, just like the firmware of the HRM-pro plus.
Does anyone has more info on that version?

But the chest bouncing up and down gives us the running dynamics which are pretty accurate, and they incorporate stride length, contact time etc., so its not a big jump or mathematic problem to produce accurate data - I see DCR suggested in his testing that the results were on a par with Stryde.
FWIW it took me multiple attempts to complete the update from GCM on my Android phone, but I got there in the end, after multiple "failed" messages. No offer to update from my watch.
Note that the strap defaults to being a source for indoor pace and distance. Not sure how that would pan out with an existing Stryd or other footpod being assigned the same duties. I've disabled these things on the strap. They are still enabled for my Stryds.
I agree I wear my HR for every run, mainly for the calorie calculation and stride length, but I do remember him saying it's dead on with Stryde. Either way, this is a good upgrade. I'll have to try it with Zwift running to see how it works, usually I use my Garmin Foot Pod.
So I finally managed to get it, now struggling to understand the difference ni Pace and Distance settings for the sensor on my watch between Indoor and Always. If you set it to Always it turns off auto-calibration option. What I'd like it to do is use pace and distance from the HRM strap even in outdoor runs, while also auto-calibrating it with GPS where GPS signal is available and deemed to be reliable to "keep it honest". Is that not an option?
Thanks.

In the settings. Sensors -> HRM-Pro that you've connected. It will show new items named "Pace" and Distance" and you can turn it to "off", "indoor", or "always" for both "indoor & Outdoor". Note that DCRainmaker said it would take at least 2h of running to calibrate it.
I just updated my HRM-Pro to v.8.8.0 and now my heartrate data is erratic. I take care of my HRM, no build-up and wash by hand and dry regularly. It's worked great until the firmware update, and now my heart rate data at my F45 class is useless. In my watch, everything works fine...but the ANT broadcast is all over the place. It didn't use to be like this.
Same here, sometimes HR on beginning starts very high, also sometimes when I do intervals, than in fast section HR sudennly go to lower values. I think this problems starts after update, I have HRM for two years, so maybe it’s also hardware related, but its in a goof shape, new battery…
