Losing bluetooth connection after 3-4 minutes

When I start my Neo Bike Smart and connect it via bluetooth with the tacx training app on an android tablet everything wents fine. all sensors including the heartrate sensor of my garmin fenix 6x pro turn green. after starting an activity the bluetooth connection shuts down after ~3-4 minutes and the activity pauses. The sensors in the tacx training app - settings - device manager regularly switching from green to grey.

Anybody have the same issue or knowing how to solve this problem?

I found the strength of the neo bike Bluetooth signal weak, therefore i do connect over ant+

i just want to confirm i have similar problems. when i connect with my fenix 7x , i have many intermittent drops in connectivity (visible also on power/cadence graphs later).. i also do see the bike as well as the power sensor connected / disconnected/ connected / disconnected / ... when going to my fenix7 sensor-page.

so far i did not find any solution for it

hi thomas,

i bypass the problem with disconnecting the tacx from power supply between the activities. maybe its a thermal problem of the mainboard that affects the bluetooth connectivity

hmm.. i usually do this all the time ( disconnecting tacx from power between activities).. so that workaround probably doesnt work for me. but thanks for mentioning and replying so fast!! best, thomas

I am having the same issue.i used to be able to zwift with my tacx neo and start my fenix 7x solar on indoor bike. Connect power and speed/cadence sensor to record ride and everything worked. Recently the speed and cadence on the watch.just intermittently drops.It is extremely frustrating since the fenix now can't record it accurately. Zwift still does. Stays connected to that fortunately. I have tried everything! Can't figure it out.

had the problem, now no longer. what "solved" it for me was one or the sum of the following:

a) i dont wear the watch, but during workout place it next to the back of my bike (the ant+/bluetooth sender/receiver is at the back)

b) i changed my wlan-router to NOT broadcast on 2,4ghz channel 11, as it overlaps quite a lot with channel 10 (which is used by Ant+) (just google)

Now i have recorded dozens of workouts WITHOUT any problem.

I wish I could turn off 2.4 but that supports all the IOT in the house. Smart lights, plugs, etc. The Tacx used to work flawlessly with BT connected to Zwift and to my Fenix 7 until the last firmware update. After that it keep dropping. I've tried turning off Ant+, turning off other devices, connecting via Ant+ on Zwift and BT on the Fenix...Even factory reset Fenix. I don't understand what they did in the last firmware update (coincidence? Doubt it). Power intermittently connected...a few minor drops but it's that pesky spd/cad that is frustrating. 2K bike and 1K watch should just work w/o problems! I tried uploading the fit file but that doesn't feed your impact data in Connect. Very frustrating.

you dont need to turn off 2.4, you just need to set the closest hotspot to NOT use channel 11 or AUTOCHANNEL, but e.g. channel 1 or 6 instead. this should not harm any IoT or other device, it's just another channel. it's worth a try at least. thomas

I'm certainly willing to try. I have a 6E Orbi mesh. I'll dig in and see if I can change the IOT channel from 1-6; skeptical but will try anything at this point.

Unfortunately the system doesn't allow channel changes; all automated. Back to the drawing board.
