Shifters sometimes not responsive

I have the same behavior. I figured out that the bike when there is too much power on the pedals, seems to make shifting harder. The I read up a bit, and found out that the shifting actually simulates real life, in that when there is too much torque on the pedals it keeps the gear.

So what I do is I shift when I pull up on the pedals, or briefly release pressure, bikes seems to notice and then will jump, 1, 2, 3 gears.  Maybe this helps?

Well this behavior was according to Garmin support not normal and they asked my to sent the bike back to be replaced by a new one. I just received the new bike and the problem is the same. To be clear even when there is not really power on the pedals the shifters sometimes just don't respond. On the trainers display the gearing changes but not the gearing in the trainer it self. It seems really like a kind of software Bluetooth issue because when I ride the trainer without any software the shifters response is instantly.

Unfortunately this new bike has also a rattling/cracking sound in the drive train, so probably have to sent this one also back!

Hi harry, what is the solution for shifting? Did you get a new bike for the second time? It is really annoying the delay in shifting down! My bike is 3 months old had the left crank syndrome and a New drive belt. It is not normal for such a expensive bike do you also?

Hi Stony, yes I am on my third bike now. The problem with the shifting is still the same, so no solution yet. What I noticed so far is that when you switch off all Bluetooth connection, on other electronics you don't need, that it becomes a bit better but it is still not completely gone. I agree with you that it is not as it should be for such an expensive bike!

I got the following confirmation by Garmin support that this is a software issue:

"Tacx Engineering has determined this to be a software issue, and is currently working on a fix."

I have the same issue, and agree it is most noticeable when attempting downshifts under higher power outputs on fast gradient changes.

I just tested this with the new firmware 0.043 and the shifting works fine now. So this problem seemed to be solved!
