It looks like the virtual shifting using the Cog+Shift combo only works in Zwift app exclusively. I'd love to use it in Tacx Training app but that doesn't see the Shift among available devices even though…
Well, according Shane Miller - GPLama, this feature should be available since 2.5.0.
I would expect something similar as in Garmin Neo Bike Plus video:

Hard to believe since Garmin Neo Bike Plus already have this feature https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=rAxPFwg5zH8eOO2pIM7R49. So it's only about user interface and while Zwift may not allow others legally…

But I'm confused. Does it actually support nativelly virtual shifting or only in 3rd party apps like Zwift/ Rouvy?
it works only in Zwift (and maybe in Rouvy too). it is not native
I've read that, but it's not written that it's not supported nativelly.
It's like: "What Tacx Trainers Are Compatible With Virtual Shifting? <...> Tacx® NEO 2T <...>". So at least I understand that it should be available.
I found hard to believe that this kind of feature, which is promoted a lot, wouldn't be supported nativelly..
Virtual Shifting is a feature of the Zwift app. It has never been mentioned by Garmin or Tacx as being also designed into the Tacx app. That's not to say that it couldn't appear at some point but I'd have thought that Zwift might have patented their implementation and that Garmin might want to avoid another patent battle with a partner
Hard to believe since Garmin Neo Bike Plus already have this feature https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=rAxPFwg5zH8eOO2pIM7R49. So it's only about user interface and while Zwift may not allow others legally to use Click or Click V2 as an UI input device, but it could be easily implemented in the app to be able to use it that way. And I'm not saying that it would be very UI friendly, but definitelly step ahead.
Yep I'm also wondering why its not already implemented for the other bikes, as the NEO Bike already has virtual gears. I really hope garmin updates the App to allow that.
Best function for me is the GPX rides. Really like to train my specific routes and with virtual shifting it would be perfection
