No speed showing on Zwift with brand new NEO 2T

I just received my Neo 2t, I thought it would be easy to setup as there's no calibration.

  • I unboxed the trainer
  • Updated the Neo 2T firmware
  • Installed the Zwift Cog
  • Mounted the bike
  • Mounted the click
  • Updated and launched Zwift
  • Paired with BLE
  • The power is showing up, the cadence is showing, the resistance can be controlled trough the Zwift click
  • BUT speed stay at 0

Trying to resolve the problem I did:

  • Unpair, pair again
  • Pair through the Zwift companion on Android instead of the computer
  • Check the cadence issue some had (adding a piece of metal on my crank)
  • Reboot
  • Uninstall reinstall Zwift
  • Upgrade Zwift click
  • Enabling Race mode
  • I tried to find a way to downgrade the firmware but it seems not possible
  • Nothing worked after spending hours trying to find the issue

Everything is showing correctly if I pair on my garmin edge or if I launch the Tacx training app... but then I can't use the Zwift click to change the gear.
I tried many reboot, be sure to disconnect from Tacx training app before to pair again on Zwift but nothing.

Even if it could be a Zwift issue, I'm really disapointed as Garmin announced the compatability with Zwift and bought it to have a nearly silent setup.
If someone buy a brand new device, recently announced compatible with a popular app, you should at least get something working.

  • I could find on Zwift forum that a downgrade could solve the problem. Would it be possible to get a link so I can try if that can solve the issue?
    My serial number is 40056

  • so You cant ride in Zwift, your avatar is just standing next to the road, right? do You have paid subscription to Zwift? is it ok? if you login onto my.zwift.com, is it showed you as a paid member? what kind of device is used for zwift? do you have additional usb BT dongle (5.2 or greater)? the inbuilt BT chips are sometimes not reliable (especially in the older devices with BT4.0)

is there any other device connection to 2T, a garmin watch or your phone via BT, etc.

  • Exactly, the bike isn't moving at all in Zwift deptice receiving cadence and power..
I have to reactivate the subscription but I'm waiting that it's working. You can ride anyway a few km or minutes per day without subscription.
I use it on my laptop with windows, without any dongle. Through my Samsung S23 it's also not working.

  • no, you cant ride without subscription in Zwift since a half year apprx (there is already no 25km free monthly ride..., just for the new registrations , 2 weeks )

  • I could do it recently with my older trainer and I can also start the ride with the neo2t so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue.

  • * from 1st Aug is no more free ride. but if not is the problem, the Zwift has problem, as always (as i checked now the Kickrs have issue with wifi connect but every new app updates bring minimum 2 new (or old but recurrent) issues :D but if there is power numbers on screen in Zwift and the avatar is not moving that is 100% Zwift issue and You need to ask them about it.

  • I will try to renew my subscription, if that was the issue, it is a bit strange to be able to start the ride without notification that it won't work.

  • it's the Zwift, dont be suprised! :) it works like that unfortunately, they assume everybody is paying who log in (ofc, would be better they do not allow to go into a world/course when you choose a freeride, or workout or pacepartner, you know, there was no main menu for many many years , so we need to be careful what do we want to wish! :D)

  • So I tried to subscribe and now the speed works.
I should say it is really stupid from Zwift to let user go to the start of the ride, show all the datas expect speed and have no notification that says that you should renew your subscription to be able to ride.
Thanks Luko79 for insisting on that point Slight smile
