Tacx Alpine

The discussions about Tacx Alpine on the Neo 2T and 3M threads are showing as 'locked' so I'm hoping we can keep a Tacx Alpine thread going.

I would like to buy an Alpine very soon but reported performance issues with Rouvy are putting me off. I emailed Rouvy support yesteday asking about this and whether they had any work arounds and this was the reply:  "At this moment, Tacx Alpine has not undergone official testing with ROUVY, so we cannot assure its compatibility or performance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

Can someone at Garmin keep the community up to speed with fixes for the reported performance issues with Rouvy?  Can Garmin work with Rouvy to get it sorted?

thanks

  • Most likely this thread is going to get lockout or deleted. I purchased the Alpine twice and returned it twice. Too many bugs and Garmin is not fixing them and mostly blaming Zwift or Rouvy or the customer Bluetooth. In fact, I sold my dedicated indoors bike and got a Zwift Ride paired with my NEO 2T so no more Alpines for me.

  • My Alpine works great.  I initially had an issue because I was trying to use Ant+.  That was operator failure on my part.   With BLE it works great. But I don’t use ROUVY.

  • Hello

Another Tacx Alpine user received a Rouvy support reply stating "the Tacx Alpine is not supported at this time" and shared this email with Garmin support:
This is not so much a performance issue, rather Rouvy's apps do not support the Tacx Alpine at this time.

Garmin is unable to share reports or customer information with 3rd parties, it is important that any users requesting Tacx Alpine support for Rouvy reach out to Rouvy as well.

  • Can a dedicated forum for the Alpine be set up?  It would be helpful to be able to receive notice of firmware updates and to be able to look for answers to questions in dedicated forum.  Is there a change log for firmware updates?  I do not regularly use the Tacx Training app and unless informed that a firmware update has been released, I wouldn’t know to update.  Last night on a whim, I connected the Training app and updates were available for my Neo 2T (2.7.0) and my Alpine.    If seen nothing anywhere about them presumably new Alpine firmware.

  • as the Tacx Alpine accessory is used with NEO 2T or NEO 3M trainers, we'd currently request that Alpine questions be posted in those respective forums.

Updates for NEO 2T, NEO 3M and Tacx Alpine are rolling out to users now.
The Tacx Alpine update version 7.6.0 includes changes to Bluetooth pairing, allowing the trainer to reconnect with apps automatically. Garmin continues to work with Zwift to make this as seamless as possible.
The NEO 2T version 2.7.0 update includes fixes for cadence data issues reported by some users.
