Firmware or Connectivity issue

Hello Garmin Tacx support team,

Since updating my Tacx Neo 2T to firmware version 2.6.0, I’ve been experiencing serious issues:
- Power output is delayed by 5+ seconds - Cadence is inaccurate and inconsistent
- My setup uses Zwift on a MacBook Pro, with sensors connected via the Zwift Companion app on my Samsung Galaxy S24

Everything worked perfectly before this update. I believe the previous firmware version was 0.0.38, which worked reliably for my use case.
I would kindly request that you help me downgrade the firmware back to that version or another stable release compatible with my setup.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards, Stefan

  • Hello

I am also experiencing issues after updating my Tacx Neo 2T to firmware v2.6.0. I have lost all connection to the cadence sensor running FulGaz on Apple TV and iPad. Everything had been working perfectly for years on the previous version 0.0.38.
I would also like to be able to restore back to v 0.0.38 or even better for the issues with v 2.6.0 to be fixed

  • I fixed, I just use the Phone as a bridge but connect Zwift with the Trainer via BLE.

I event bougth ANT+ dongle that *** doesn't work. So just connect directly via BLE

  • I'm also experiencing issues since directly after the update to 2.6.0 such as inconsistency of cadence broadcasting. Both Zwift and my Edge device pick up the same, sometimes incorrect, readings (usually a 10 to 20% overread a few times a minute). A reset of the trainer helped a little but the problem is still there, just maybe a slightly smaller overhead. I've logged a call with Garmin suppprt.

  • Similar issues here since updating to 2.6.0.  Can connect to Zwift on my Windows laptop via BLE but then then it will go through a cycle of disconnection/reconnection every 10 seconds or so.
No issues previously before updating to 2.6.0.

ANT still works fine, but need to use BLE for Zwift click.

  • I got my TACX Alpine today. While setting it up everything went flawless. I did the firmware update without any issues. I was able to ride about 8 miles on Zwift and everything worked fine. 3 or 4 hours later, I tried to connect to the Alpine with my iPhone and Tacx Training app and it was not possible. I had to Forget the bluetooth device and pair it again in order to connect with my iPhone. This is the second Alpine showing the same issue. I returned one this weekend and ordered this second unit from Garmin and it is showing the same problem. I came to the conclusion that it is a bug in the latest firmware because with firmware 6.0.0 I had no problem during setup. All the connectivity issues started after the firmware update. The same issue is now affecting steering over Zwift because the Alpine is not connecting over BT. My NEO 2T is working fine over BT and ANT+ but looks like firmware v2.6.0 and v7.0.3 for the Alpine broke BT connectivity for some. I already communicated this issue to Garmin. Let’s see what they respond.

  • I have exactly the same problem you described. It was working perfectly before the update. If I restart my computer it usually works. But with the first start of the computer, I always had this issue.

  • I plugged in a Bluetooth dongle I had lying around and then disabled the Laptop's internal Bluetooth and it now works OK.  Not an ideal solution though.

  • Similar cadence issue with Fulgaz.  With the update to V 2.6.0, Fulgaz can no longer recognise the Neo 2T Cadence sensor.  I had to purchase a cadence sensor as a secondary device to allow Cadence recording with Fulgaz.  Neo 2T trainer and Power are identified but not the Neo 2T cadence sensor.  This has all occurred immediately after I installed V 2.6.0.   I have no issue running the TACX app training scenarios  - this only occurs with the Fulgaz software.

  • Deat Garmin, Same problem to me. i have two neo2t and only the updated one have the connection issue. The old firmare works well as Always. I would like to downgrade the firmware, or wait for update to fix it.
