Hello,
I own a Tacx Neo 2T trainer that is less than four years old. Unfortunately, during a ride yesterday, the trainer suddenly stopped working. After consulting with Garmin customer support in my country, I was informed that the controller board has burned out.
From what I understand, this appears to be a common issue with Tacx trainers.
As an electrical engineer, I would like to raise the following concerns:
How is it possible that a high-end device such as the Tacx Neo 2T does not undergo thorough quality control, particularly regarding the design and durability of the controller board?
Were any protective mechanisms implemented in the board to prevent overheating or unexpected voltage surges?
What assurances do I have that even if I repair the trainer—at a cost approaching half the price of a new unit—the same failure will not occur again?
I would appreciate a detailed response addressing these questions, as well as any potential support or solution you can offer regarding this issue.
Sincerely,
Nitzan
