cadence sensor metal plate

Since my cadence sensor on Tacx NEO 2T "drops out" occasionally (starts reading ~45 where I'm pedaling around 90), I found here in Garmin help about the Cadence sensor needing a metal plate extension to the pedal to ensure it reliably triggers the sensor.   This apparently does not come with the trainer.  Where can this be found or what common hack can I use?
