NEO 2T Front wheel support block (motion plates) on gravel bike tires

My gravel bike tires are not "compatible" with the front wheel block as they are wider than 28mm. (https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-125ECACD-A830-4FBE-A3A9-BAFC456035DD/EN-US/GUID-0B7933D5-2AC2-46B8-89CB-EC54BC7BFA9E.html)

Are there any other solutions? Or rather do I need to use the block itself?

  • If you don't use the block at all, your bike will be in a bit of a "heads down" position. However, I reckon you could just build a small platform out of some plywood to raise the wheel up a bit. It would then be free to roll back and forth on this platform.

Using a standard wheel block raises the risk that your front tyre rolls out of it.

  • Right now the tire (~40mm) is kinda in there halfway. I can get a finger under it.

Recon that is fine or would it be better to build a custom platform?

  • I've got 40mm gravel tires and this is my "solution" to this very expensive product even usable.

Tape the tire. Tape the block. Then it moves a bit better in it and also, it does not make any annoying noises anymore. But yeah, still does not fit as it should.
