TACX NEO 2T - MTB Full suspension bike with 12 cassette SHIMANO 10-51, fixed axle 148x12

Dear,

I have a TACX NEO 2T and I have a problem with its setup for my full suspension bike with 12 cassette SHIMANO 10-51T, fixed axle 148x12. I bought a SHIMANO Freehub body ("013-00924-10), under which I had to put 4,5mm shims to be able to shift on 12, 11 pinion and not touch my derailleur body and TACX.

On the fixed side - NDS I mounted a bracket for 148x12 (total length is 154mm!!!). If I mounted a 142x12 NDS bracket (total length would be 148mm a bylo by to super), I can't insert the wheel by about 2mm as the rear brake caliper is in the way.

I can use the bike on the trainer, but due to the 4.5mm shims under the Freehub body, the Freehub body is not fully inserted into the grooves and will surely get damaged over time, which I don't want.

Do you have any recommendations on how to set everything up properly.

Thank you for your help

Brgs, Rene

  • I've got a gravel bike, but having maybe similar issues with the same microspline 10-51 cassette. I have assembled it with all attached and recommended washers.

First, derailleur arm is still touching the Tacx body.

Second, chain is touching the Tacx front right leg when shifted to the two biggest gears (45 and 51). My derailleur setup is with the long "arm", so that could be the problem, but it's just standard Shimano setup for large bikes. I did't know how to prevent this, so I temporarily taped there soft padding, so the chain does not damage the Tacx body, at least, but I don't like that at all.

Third, front wheel support is made for narrow road tyres only. The motion plates version as well. 40mm gravel tyre does not fit, it squeaks, etc. My solution is to tape it, the wheel as well, so it at least does not make any loud noises.
