Hello all, and thank you for your participation on this topic.
As many users have pointed out, Zwift's virtual shifting feature relies on more than just the connected smart trainer (in this case, the NEO…
Garmin,
We need this update! Please update the Firmware to include virtual shifting.
thanks
As per the response from GPlama we as a community need to request this from Tacx...................... COME ON Garmin/Tacx get on with enabling virtual shifting
Thanks Clayton, we are confident that Garmin and Tacx will do their best to accommodate our requests
Thank you Clayton. As tinolozano says, the risk to Garmin of not supplying this fix, is likely to result in large numbers of users migrating to platforms that do give full support to the Zwift update.
Thanks for the reply. Great to see someone from Garmin reply on this thread (there are others). Unfortunately I am an avid Garmin user but in the end I sold my Neo 2T for a trainer that supports virtual shifting. I will still follow this thread as I am keen to see if Garmin make the required update.Garmin-Clayton
Thanks Clayton, if you get this sorted in the next month I’ll stay with Garmin.
Garmin-Clayton thanks for the reply it has felt like Garmin wasn't interested in it's loyal customers.
It would really help if you could give even a broad timetable to the next step or solution. Many people want this feature and might stay with Garmin if they knew when it was going to be rolled out. Please keep the communication coming.
Thanks
I think this response is spot on. Zwift could integrate virtual shifting into the platform for all trainers, but want this as a selling point for their own and partners trainers currently. They think most users would sooner buy a new trainer than migrate from the established Zwift platform to one of the other training platforms and are probably correct. The QZ app might be a third party workaround, it's currently in closed beta testing for full virtual shifting from zwift for any trainer. Link to promo video below.
Check with developer, but I think the aim is all trainers. I'm using an original Neo and zwift play with and just joined the closed beta program for the development. The resistance and gear changes worked and showed up on Zwift. I think I messed up the set-up (first ride yesterday) as selected the wrong option for power output in the zwift set up. Will report back after second ride
