Hello all, and thank you for your participation on this topic.
As many users have pointed out, Zwift's virtual shifting feature relies on more than just the connected smart trainer (in this case, the NEO…
Garmin,
We need this update! Please update the Firmware to include virtual shifting.
thanks
As per the response from GPlama we as a community need to request this from Tacx...................... COME ON Garmin/Tacx get on with enabling virtual shifting
It's clear that Garmin do not read this thread. GPLama suggests contacting them through this ideas suggestion form www.garmin.com/.../
If you read the rest of the thread, you'll see that a number of us have done that already....
The Neo is a great trainer, no question. It's just seeing virtual shifting would make it even more so. But the more I think about it I have the impression there's more at stake for Garmin vs. Zwift... I guess Zwift could also implement virtual shifting into their platform without the need of firmware actualizations of other company's than the one's they work with. Probably it's a strategy to see if they can enter the trainer market... pure speculation. But other it's not explicable that there is zero comment from Garmin on this issue. Maybe we will see more new platforms that have virtual shifting integrated and see if it can attract people over from Zwift... Not sure where this is going.
Fair point, of course, some of us have used the right Garmin contact form already. But more of us should. It won't make a change if Garmin is not reading what we discuss here. And there are a lot of brilliant comments that Garmin should get aware of.
comments that Garmin should get aware of.
I have been very disappointed with my Flux, does riding through mud simulation brilliantly but has no other tricks, everything is mud, DC RAINMAKER & GPLAMA say the JetBlack Victory is going to really stir up the competition if they can produce the volumes necessary to meet the demand.
Do you have a power meter on your bike? If you do then try using this for power. I have a tacx Neo which has the same 'riding through mud' affect, not massively but enough to impact race performances. I have found that using my power meter pedals for power but the Neo for resistance works much better, takes away the muddly feeling
Do you have a link to the contact form?
Hello all, and thank you for your participation on this topic.
As many users have pointed out, Zwift's virtual shifting feature relies on more than just the connected smart trainer (in this case, the NEO 2T). Garmin and Tacx see the value in this type of functionality and are investigating possible opportunities.
Thank you Clayton
I have to believe that a very large percentage of your customers of virtual trainers are also Zwift users. To ignore this segment for too long would more than likely result in substantial migration away from Garmin and Tacx products to ones that support the full experience of the Zwift platform. This risk extends by association from the immediately relevant Tacx trainers to all the Garmin products that reside in the cycling and other fitness ecosystems.
