Hello all, and thank you for your participation on this topic.
As many users have pointed out, Zwift's virtual shifting feature relies on more than just the connected smart trainer (in this case, the NEO…
Garmin,
We need this update! Please update the Firmware to include virtual shifting.
thanks
As per the response from GPlama we as a community need to request this from Tacx...................... COME ON Garmin/Tacx get on with enabling virtual shifting
I reached out to Garmin via many media and no real answer giving. I was told the usual "submit an idea". I did that.
I then made the decision to sell my Neo 2T with motion plates and I have since sold it.
I went ahead and bought the JetBlack Victory, before GP Lama released his production review.
The brand seems great and their previous trainers seem to be durable and reliable.
I am willing to take a €450 "risk" on this brand/product.
I hope for those that stayed with their Neo's, Garmin do release an update to enable some of the latest features other trainers now provide.
I didn't want to do it as I loved my Neo. I was reaching out to Garmin on many occasions over the last few months. For me the final straw was seeing the EuroBike review of the JetBlack Victory. If they can do it on an "entry level" trainer and wahoo can enable certain models of the KickR series to do it, then I don't know why Garmin haven't tried to do it or at least say it is not possible.
I can completely understand that, but what I don’t understand at all is the no answer policy of Garmin on this. It would be actually nice just to get some sort of message that they are aware of the situation and if or if they are not planning anything… but this is ridiculous, why have this forum, when no one answers?
I guess I will sell my neo 2 on the used market and get one of the other brands or the new zwift trainer…
I'm very close to selling my tacx neo 2t and getting the zwift ride with the wahoo kickr core. I'm really liking what i'm seeing with the zwift ride. It looks like a lot of fun witht he virtual shifting and that I can have a bike specially for zwift. It's a shame garmin wont update their system to support the virtual shifting.
I'm guessing that Garmin are looking at trainers like the JetBlack Victory and realising that there is nothing that they can do to retain any market share. I suspect they are putting zero effort into this product line and they are just selling off current stock.
