zwift virtual gear changes - please update the firmware

a little feature request if you will. it would be great if garmin updated the firmware of their top trainer to get use of the recently introduced virtual gearing in zwift. thanks ;)

  • Just do it, have you tried virtual shifting?

  • I have yet to try it but heard it’s a game changer. I have my Neo 2T up for sale and someone has put in a concrete offer.. I think I will accept the offer and try out a new setup. I don’t think I have ever turned road feel on and I have yet to hit 1000W.. never mind 2200W Slight smile

  • I would appreciate ant comment from @Garmin whatsoever - and be it negative. But why is nobody responding to this thread?

  • It would be great to know if they have plans or no plans what so ever to enable virtual shifting.

  • Dear Garmin Support,

Could you please provide us with an update on Garmin’s plans regarding Zwift virtual gear changes? Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

  • Exactly BorjaPe. It would be great if they released some sort of statement. Yes, we are looking into Zwift virtual shifting OR No, Garmin have no plans to integrate Zwift virtual shifting.

  • What is leaving me astonished that their marketing department is not looking to their forum! We are in an official Garmin Forum end none from them is writing anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Garmin asked me to respond.

Thank you for your inquiry. Garmin has carefully considered the request to implement virtual shifting into its smart trainers to address customer demand and adapt our products to be competitive into the future. Based on our research, we conclude that our customers should just be happy they are permitted own our devices. Therefore, we will not be making any updates to our TACX line of smart trainers to accommodate virtual shifting, even though Zwift gave us the blueprint and it would require one of our trained programmers approximately 2 hours to implement. To accommodate our customers who are unhappy with this decision, we are offering a 5% discount off the MSRP+5% of a new TACX trainer without virtual shifting so you have can two trainers that don't virtually shift. We will continue to not provide customer service to our valued customers by continuing to ignore this forum and any requests for product improvement. We thank you for your inquiry and believe our response demonstrates how much we care about our valued and loyal customers.

    Love,

    Garmin

    P.S.

    Screw you. Hahahahaha!

(This is parody in case Garmin's lawyers decide to take this seriously... I can't believe I have to write this to CYA...)

  • Lol, very nice. JoyJoyJoy

  • Garmin/Tacx: Please don't make me sell my Tacx Neo 2T and buy a Wahoo Kickr Move instead. Somehow make this Zwift feature of Virtual Shifting work. This is a Killer-Feature!
