Tacx neo 2 shimano 105 disc caliper touching silver part of neo 2

I've just bought a Neo 2, fitted the shim and the correct through axle adapters from my 12x142 spec bike. The Shimano 105 caliper is touching the silver part of the trainer.

I can't believe that this is acceptable. I've loosened the caliper and there is movement away from the trainer but when tightened it will still touch the trainer.

I'm considering sticking something on the trainer to prevent rub as I wouldn't be happy having the caliper loose when I'm using the trainer.

Is there a better fix? I'm considering sending the trainer back and getting a wahoo as I expected the set up to fit perfectly without any bodging.

Depending on how the caliper mounts to the frame you could try using one of the adaptors that allow for the use of larger diameter disc rotors.

I'm guessing you bike is using a 140mm or smaller rotor.…

I'm guessing you bike is using a 140mm or smaller rotor. I've never had this clearance problem with 160mm or larger rotors.

Any reason why you don't want to remove the caliper from its mounts and secure it to a convenient spot on the frame with a zip tie or similar?

There is a 2.7mm disc brake shim that comes with the assembly kit when you bought the trainer. You need to install it on the Non Drive Side. Are you sure you didn’t use the 0.5mm or 1mm shims meant for the drive side when installing certain 12 speed cassettes?
