Is there any news regarding dropouts in Zwift when Tacx Neo 2T, Edge 1030, 4iiii crank are connected?

Hi all,

Yes I know there are already countless posts discussing this topic.
Please don't bash me if I open another one.

Due to the low power reading of the Neo 2T, I would like to use a Powermeter Crank 4iiii.
However, I would also definitely like to use my Edge 1030 or my Fenix 6 to record the workout to see the Garmin Connect training status such as VO2max, workload, recovery, anerobic vs. aerobic.

I tried a lot so far:

  • Different connections via ANT+ and Bluetooth between my 4 devices:
    • Tacx Neo 2T
    • Win10 PC running Zwift with either ANT+ dongle or Bluetooth dongle
    • Power Crank 4iiii which supports ANT+ and Bluetooth
    • Garmin Edge 1030
    • Garmin Heart Rate Belt HRM
    • Garmin Fenix 6 (I only tried it because I thought it does not access the resistance of the trainer)

And even still with Galaxy Tab S6 or a P30 mobile.

Unfortunately, I have not yet managed a setup where the first dropout does not occur after 10 minutes.

I have read the findings of Zwift Insider regarding the positioning of the dongle. I don't think it's a problem with poor receiver signal. The intervals of often 10 minutes and regularly are very very suspicious that it is another problem.

I do think it's a well known bug and Garmin doesn't car about. The first posts go back to 2019.

I have also read many times that Garmin/Tacx ignores this issue.

But I finally want to race Zwift again and enjoy the group rides.

Maybe we can turn this thread back into a general update of all the older threads.

Thank you all and best regards and of course Ride On!!!
