Is it possible to combine heart rate sensor data from garmin watch with other data from tacx in TDA or Garmin Connect?

I can see a lot of data coming from Tacx but not my heart rate.

Is it possible to combine data from heart rate sensor on garmin 945 with data coming from Tacx in TDA or other applications like Garmin Connect?

That would make it possible to get some comparison from outdoor training data with inside training data.

Speeds recorded on tacx are not comparable with speed on MTB outdoor but other data like heart rate is.

  • you can try to broadcast your HR data from watch and add it as HR sensor in the Tacx app

  • How do you broadcast HR from watch? Don't see any connection in TDA.

Only workaround I see for now is linking watch with Tacx, select indoor biking and start session manually when starting an exercise in TDA. Then save the session on the watch and in TDA. After sync to Garmin Connect I can delete the session from TDA in Connect (otherwise data is double in Connect). That way I keep history on TDA and in Garmin Connect.

Can't say this workflow is a beauty....

  • Just set your Forerunner 945 to broadcast heart rate, then you can add it like any other heart rate sensor in the Tacx Training app. It will record heart rate along with data from the trainer, and then should automatically sync the activity to Garmin Connect.

  • Found the setting to broadcast heart rate....

    From te manual:

Broadcasting Heart Rate Data to Garmin Devices

You can broadcast your heart rate data from your Forerunner® device and view it on paired Garmin® devices.
NOTE: Broadcasting heart rate data decreases battery life.

       1.  From the heart rate widget, hold . (hamburger icon)
       2. Select Heart Rate Options > Broadcast Heart Rate.
       3.  Press START.

The Forerunner device starts broadcasting your heart rate data, and appears.
Pair your Forerunner device with your Garmin ANT‍+® compatible device.
NOTE: The pairing instructions differ for each Garmin compatible device. See your owner's manual.
TIP: To stop broadcasting your heart rate data, press STOP from the broadcast heart rate screen.

Step 1 was not clear to me.
In the manual it shows a hamburger menu.
This appears to be de UP button. (Middle button on the left side of the watch)
So start with the watch showing your heart rate and PRESS AND HOLD the UP button.
That triggers a menu I had never seen before...
