Compatibility Trek Madone 5.9 2011

Hi,

I tried to put my Trek Madone 5.9 2011 with Sram Force etap axs with the Tacx freehub xdr

First, anyone has Duotrap experience with the Neo 2T?

I had to remove it.

Then, is seems that it has not enough clearance between the frame and the cassette.

Does anybody know if my bike is compatible?

If yes, anything special that I have to do or something I am doing wrong?

Thanks!

  • Could you upload some pictures to the forum to show what you mean?

Was the SRAM Force eTap AXS added later by you? The Trek web site only lists Shimano Ultrega 10-speed for the Trek Madone 5.9 2011.

  • Hi Scillonian,

Yes, I upgradred so Sram Force etap axs. I had a deal for the group since rim brakes are getting toss away! Lucky me! Slight smile

So, after examining my bike I tried just to "spread" a little the rear fork and it did the job. I was nervous doing that!

But still, I am wondering if Duotrap is compatible.

It seems that it is on the way on putting the bike correctly...

With a carbon frame bike you are right to be cautious when using with a smart trainer. Depending on your riding style you can put stresses on the frame that would not occur in outdoor riding. If you are a 'quite' rider who does not throw the bike from side to side when standing to peddle (sprinting or FTP test for example) you should not cause any undue frame stress. If you throw the bike from side to side a lot when standing to peddle then be aware you could be putting excessive stress on the frame.

There is an account on this forum of someone breaking a carbon frame bike while doing an FTP test.

Is DuoTrap is a speed and cadence sensor?

How compatible the DuoTrap is will depend on what you will be using to control your Tacx NEO 2T as this is what it will be connected to. I suspect it will not work for speed as there is wheel for it to monitor. Cadence should work but the controlling device will use the cadence and speed data supplied by the Tacx NEO 2T.
