Neo 2T with Macbook pro = Bluetooth issue

Hello Everyone

I got the Neo 2T and I'm pretty happy with it, on a Windows laptop.

On my mac (which I use on a daily basis), I cannot connect my new trainer with bluetooth. I took care to disconnect other peripherals from. I turned it off, then on, let it one night disconnected, nothing works.

I'm frustrated to get a 1200€ product and not working well with a popular system.

And NO, I can't stay on the windows laptop, Zwift and Tacx sometimes hang and I have to reconnect my HDMI to my mac at the end...

Thank you for your help!

Hi Tvallier. I found the same. It connects to my Ipad via Bluetooth Ok but not my MacBook. However after a lot of trial and error I discovered that the MacBook did connect Ok using an ANT+ stick in the USB port. It lights up green on the Neo instead of blue.

Forget what I said above.  I tried again today and no matter what I try, my MacBook will no longer connect via Bluetooth or ANT+.  I am therefore now limited to just doing non video/film workouts on the IPad.

So should I now spend another £1000 on a windows laptop in the hope that it might work (probably not based on your experience) or do I spend the £1000 on a Wahoo Kickr, like I'm beginning to think I should have done in the first place?

  • I spent couple of days in debugging of MacBook bluetooth and it seems that the issue is in the Mac, not in the trainer.

  • No probleme ever whith Kickr ou Neo 2T and my Macbook pro 2016 or  2019 8 You MBP is not BLE ? too old ?  good luck

  • Hi, no problems with my Macbook Air 2015.

Be sure that the bluetooth led is turn off before you try to connect the Mac. You can connect only one device by bluetooth.

  • I have a MacBook Air 2020 with OS Big Sur and my Tacx NEO 2T is not able to connect with my laptop using Bluetooth. My TACX is able to connect with my IphoneX with Bluetooth but not with my the laptop. The only way to use my Mac is using ANT+ (USB). Very disappointed. Please let me know if you guys found a solution

  • If the problem still exists, I would like to respond. I bought the Macbook Air 2020 M1 a few days ago and I am also desperate at first. Then I turned off BT and turned it back on and then started the Zwift app. Then I selected the "Power Source" button (top left button) and there was the Trax Neo 2 listed. I selected it and it worked fine.

  • For all the guys having issues w/ bluetooth connections. One POSSIBLE issue is the Trainer is already connected to other bluetooth. (can only connect to one at any time)

Sometimes, you have connected to other devices (eg: iPad) and even tho you're not using the iPad, when you turnon the trainer, the iPad connects to it automatically. (This is a problem). So, you may need to find all the devices that may connect to it, and either turn off their Bluetooth or kill the offending app on the iPad etc (even if the app is  in the bckground on the iPad, it's still connecting to the Bluetooth so that's the issue)
