Who thinks there will be a new neo model(Neo3?) in the coming months?

Hi all,

as in the subject, i'm planning to change my trainer (Direto X) with the neo but...whta about a new Neo 3 in the next three-five months?

What would be new feature-better things, eventually for the new model?

I'm very curios to know from you.

Thanks.

  • I think no new model till next september, the actual model is still only 1year old, the Neo1 had 3ys, Neo2 only 1y due to they had to redesign the magnets to eliminate the slip/low speed high force issue. So the 2T still has 1y for sure...

  • Dusting this old thread off rather than starting a new one.

Tacx should be thinking long and hard about a NEO3 at this point.

DCR recently reviewed the Elite "Justo" which is now going toe to toe with the NEO2T...and surpassed it with two features: it bridges HR and cadence sensors for retransmission (breaking the AppleTV 2-BLE device limit), and adds a second BLE channel which allows trainer configuration from a smartphone while mid-ride. The NEO2T offers neither of these while multiple competitors are starting to adopt them.

Furthermore - and this one’s more critical - the NEO2T still uses the exact same case design as the original NEO “1”. That was fine when everyone had rim brakes but it’s now causing issues with a LOT of different bike frames, necessitating the use of spacers. A lot of derailleurs will make contact with the drive-side of the NEO as well if running modern, wide-range cassettes.

    Your move, Tacx.

  • Still very silent around the new Tacx. Wahoo is covering ground with their V6 and new Kickr Bike... Still hoping this year we wil see a new 3(T)...
