Vibration in the pedals when in under load?

I just got my 2T recently and I noticed when I am doing ERG workouts (what I do the most) at an 80-90rpm cadence @250W (about 13-14mph "wheel speed) I can feel a vibration in the pedals. I am doing this on Trainer road so there is no road feel or anything enabled. I am trying to figure out how much of this is "normal" and just the magnets, though I didn't expect the feeling to be this intense, or if there is something wrong with my unit. The unit is very quiet, so I am not sure what to think here.

  • I have a brand new NEO 2T (3 rides) that is doing this. Took my bike off my V2 KickR, put the Shimano 6700 10sp cassette on the NEO 2T (with 2 spacers) and I noticed the vibrations on the very first ride. They come and go, and they sort of feel the same as when I turn on road feel.

This was with the NEO 2T plugged into AC power. Are you all getting this with and without AC power?

Anyone every find a solution? Its quite annoying, my 5 year old Kickr is as smooth as butter.

  • I have this exact issue: low rumble, no sound, exaggerated when I crank with my hand. For some reason I don’t recall this issue/side-effect when the trainer was new. Have you tried difference bikes?

  • No solution. I have this exact issue, and I don’t recall having this issue when I first got the trainer. Tried replacing chain, cassette, making all the adjustments and problem persists. At this point I’ve stopped using the trainer all together and may go pick up a different brand.

  • I want to buy NEO 2T, is this problem solved?

  • wha say garmin support ?

  • As I think I mentioned earlier, mine largely went away after changing my chain, I think the torque control may be over compensating from some drivetrain issues. That being said there is some small vibration there at lower speeds, I think this is just a side effect of the system design. It doesn't bother me anymore and I rarely even notice it.

  • I've replaced cassette, chain, lockings, spacers and the vibration never went away. I didn't notice the vibration during the first year of ownership and now its at the point where I don't use the trainer anymore. Its somewhat subtle and happens are lower cadence, but its bad enough that if I'm on the trainer for 30+ minutes by growing feels numb.

  • That sounds more serious than mine, I know there were bearing issues at one point and sounds like yours needs replacing

  • I was under the impression that the bearing issue was audible. My unit sounds normal.
