HRM Dual connecting to app but not displaying BPM

Hi, I just got a Tacx NEO 2T. When connecting my Garmin HRM-Dual to my Iphone, I can see the sensor from inside the app but it doesn't show the BPM on the screen. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

This picture shows both devices connected (HRM dual and Tacx Neo2T trainer), you can see all the data coming from the trainer (Watt, Km/H and RPM) but the BPM is null.

Thank you to any help you can provide.

I'm having the same problem as well. I can connect the HRM dual to my iPad, my husband's iPhone, and to my Concept 2 rower but it doesn't work on my iPhone. I tried removing the Garmin Connect App but it doesn't seem to work still. I tried several heart rate monitor apps and it detects the HRM dual but it doesn't show the actual heart rate.

  • In the meantime I got a feedback from Garmin. "They are aware that some users are experiencing this problem and they are working on a solution". Let's see how long it takes.

  • I have an issue one step back using an Android Device. I have a new HR strap and I need to connect to the app but I do not see the button there was in the previous version to add a new sensor.

    Where I can find it?

I am using Any+ HR strap and I used more times with this smartphone and Tacx app with the old one that was identical.

  • There are multiple threads about this issue.  One or more people said it started with an iOS update in Nov 2020 on newer iOS devices.  Older iOS devices can receive the data flow from your HRM Dual.

  • I had this issue on my iPad.  Solved by forgetting device in bluetooth settings and adding it again.  It seemed like it may have set up a second Bluetooth connection, but I couldn’t really be sure.

  • I don’t have a Tacx Neo, but do use an iPad and an Edge 830.  There are multiple threads with people describing this same prob., starting with an iOS update in Nov 2020.  A workaround was posted somewhere, saying that older iOS devices will receve and display HR data.  That suggestion worked for me.  I think Android maybe doesn’t have as many of these problems because it’s an open standard, but of course Apple severly limits what publishers of partner apps can see of iOS code.

I started this thread in September/2020, so for me the Nov iOS update didn't impact me at all: it didn't fix the issue I already have, and as of yesterday I still have the issue.

  • Same with me and it just started today for some reason.  HR works in Rouvy so a Tacx issue.

  • same issue for me : -Dual coorectly connected to TACX application but no BPM data displayed. It's quite annoying , when  you buy the same brand on different  materials  , you expect perect compatiility !  any date from Garmin to fix the issue ?

  • Same issue. It can be related to the heart rate sender (be it belt or watch). Both sending at the same time requires a multi mode. Some microprocessors and their software are not "strong" enough to handle that. So the dual mode is either or and not both together.
