NEO 2T, is it directly compatible with MTB 135 mm bikes or not?

Maybe my English is not good enough and maybe I don`t understand well but in NEO 2T web https://tacx.com/product/neo-2t-smart/ I can read:

"Directly compatible with 135×10 mm axles" but also: "...for 135x10 bikes you'll need an additional adapter..."   (which costs around 45-50 € or $, BTW).

My bike is MTB 135x10, so just in case, I bought that 49€ adittional adapter before receive my neo 2t few days ago and it has nothing to do in shape, size and number of pieces with the "in the neo 2t box" adapter from factory.

I mount the factory 135 mm adapter and it seems to work fine but this confusion makes me wonder if my current configuration is te correct one.

Based on the image below, the Neo 2T includes a QR 135mm drive side adapter, so if your bike is working using that adapter, then obviously your bike is QA 135, not 135x10, and therefore you can return the adapter kit.

  • NEO 2T includes a 135 QR cap for non-drive side.

My bike is 135x10, but I guess there have to be two differents 135x10 axles... Could it be QR vs THRU???

Maybe the NEO 2T web has omitted to specify that this trainer is directly compatible with 135x10 QR but for 135x10 THRU it needs and additional adapter?

    The adapter is this:

    https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/690907

But it is also for QR !!!!

    What am I missing?

If you are using the factory QR 135mm end cap that was in the box, then your bike is quick release not thru axle.

  • Yes my bike is not THRU axle.

I wrote garmin garmin support and they ask me " Can you please advise which bike model you are looking to mount on to your Tacx NEO 2 trainer?"

I said my bike is 135x10

Then they told me to buy the adapter. Thinking

I think I will never know the difference between the 135 QR cap supplied in the neo 2t box and the $50 135x10 QR adapter and why they say NEO 2T is directly compatible with 135x10 bikes but also for that bikes is neccesary an additional adapter...

I just hope that the 135 QR cap Im using is the one that fits perfecly to my bike frame.

Take a look at the DT Swiss RWS 10 X 135mm MTB Thru Bolt and then you will know the difference.

  • I can't read here  https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/690907 any reference to any THRU axle. Are you sure?

The adapter in the link above is QR, isn't it?  But the 135 cap included in NEO2T is ALSO QR !!!! Isn't it?

Sorry for my insistence, but the more I read about axles, the Iess I understand the external adapter is what for.

I just want to know why HERE says one thing and its opposite and why Garmin told me I need the external adapter for my 135x10 bike.
