Tacx Neo 2T ERG Mode

Hello, can anyone help with my TACX Neo 2T Unit - I received it today and updated it to firmware 0.34. Tried my first session on Trainer Road (coming from the KICKR 18), and ERG mode doesn't seem to work with Trainer Road.

Reading through the forums it seems the Neo Bike (on firmware 0.40) seems to have resolved this? Are there any plans (and if so when) of releasing these fixes to the 2T. I am still in my return period so can send this back for a refund.

Alternatively, are there any other suggestions to remedy this?

Thank you.

Edit: Description of my issue: Trainer Road app, gives me target of 200 watts, Trainer reads 220 watts and seems the Neo 2T doesn't adjust resistance to bring down my wattage.

  • Hi,

you have checked if you have the same behavior with the tacx app.

    A greeting

They (Garmin/Tacx) are aware of this issue and they wrote to me when complaining that the solution will come but not when (firmware update)

Thanks for the reply 1537602 - highly frustrating but at least they are aware of the issue... now should I return or not hmmm?

Don’t know... I changed my non-issues-at-all Wahoo Kickr and I really expect more from this 2T but so far I’m obviously disappointed.

They had the same problem with their bike and probably because of its cost they hurried up when several customers started to write

This is from that bike forum. Hopefully the 2T will be fixed soon too

Hello, we have the Neo 2T and the ERG mode doesn´t work the same as the wahoo kickr did. Is Garmin going to deliver an update soon to solve this?

    Thank you.

The trainer adjusts itself to average around 220W when TR's target is only 200W? I was never experiencing anything like that in the past six months of usage. Just to be sure, the power reading you are referring to comes from the trainer and not from another power meter attached to your bike?

What was your cadence and choice of gears?

EDIT: Does it show the same behaviour in the Tacx utility app?

Hi, i don´t use any additional power meter attached to the Smart Bike, my average cadence is between 80 to 100 always. I don't use Tacx Utility app. I just use the Wahoo Roam and no more. It happened since the update 0.0.40 100% sure.

I was answering to the OP, so you (JTSAW) are speaking about the NEO Bike (current firmware 0.40)? I was referring to my NEO 2T Trainer (current Firmware 0.34).

You can check ERG using the Tacx utitlity app, just to make sure it's not the program that handles the ERG
