Neo 2t bluetooth and ant+ not working

I bought a Tacx Neo 2T on the weekend, took it home, set it up and rode Zwift for 30 minutes to try it out. Paired right away the first time without any problems. After my ride I downloaded the Tacx utility app to update the firmware.

Immediately following the firmware update I tried logging back into zwift, unfortunately the trainer was not able to connect with my mac mini (2019). I did all the things I'm used to doing in this situation, restarting devices, unplugging and plugging devices back in, closing and opening apps. I turned the bluetooth off on my phone, then turned my phone off altogether so it did not interfere with the Tacx trying to connect with the computer. Still nothing. Fast forward a day later, I tried seeing if the Tacx would connect to my macbook pro, which I used many times to run zwift with my Wahoo Kickr. Still doesn't recognize the trainer. I once again opened the utility app, which does recognize the trainer, this time I watched the bluetooth light on the side of the trainer to see what was going on. Turns on when connected to the app then off when I disconnect it. Other than the phone app the bluetooth light never comes on.

So then I pulled out an old ant+ dongle to see if that would work as I am getting sick of this trainer not working. Still won't connect and Zwift still cannot detect it.

I'm starting to get fed up with this trainer and am ready to return it. I owned a Tacx years ago and got rid of it because of problems like this. I have onwed several Wahoo trainers since then and have not had a problem, is it just my luck?

Why did it work before updating the software and now won't connect at all, no matter what I do?

Hopefully someone has a solution, I really like the idea of this new 2T.

Thanks,

  • I also encountered the problem that I cannot connect to tacx neo 2 using Samsung tab s6
Since then I found that as long as I open the "tacx utility" app to connect to the tacx neo 2 and then start the trainer app, there is no problem

Same thing. Here it comes Garmin products. 1600$ and can't connect to my macbook pro. Very disappointed

  • I have no idea if this is still an issue for any of you, but I have found that it is very important to disconnect the tacx utility from the neo 2t before closing it. When I left it connected other apps like Zwift wouldn't work correctly. Good luck!

Encounter similar issues with bluetooth connection:
It's connected to Tacx app but can't connect it to Zwift anymore. Also, during my rides on Tacx is keeps disconnecting throughout the ride(s)

    Hello ,

Perfectly the same thing with my Tacx Flux 2 Smart Assembly

  • My ant+ dongle was super easy to setup on an old Lenovo laptop, and it easily connected to my Tacx Neo 2 with an older version of Windows 10. That was January 2020.

Fast forward to March 2021. I purchased a new HP workstation with latest version of Windows 10, but the same ant+ dongle, while quickly "setup" by Win 10, does not work. Checking in "settings" shows that there is no driver installed, so it does not work. Searching the Garmin site is totally hopeless. Garmin support (manufacturer of both the trainer and the ant+ dongle) has been utterly hopeless. The email I received from Garmin support clearly came from a "helpful" person who has no idea how the Tacx and ant+ work. No solution in sight - sigh...

  • The Tacx NEO 2T is sometimes a bit confused as to what device it should maintain / make  a connection  Try disabling the bluetooth on your android device and your mac /pc. Then pull out the ac plug. Wait a few seconds to make sure the Tacx "gets the message",  and plug in again and enable the bluetooth function on the device of your choice.

  • Same issue here, lost connection after firmware update. Tried everything, disconnecting, connecting etc, nothing works. Extremely disappointed, now the headache of figuring out how to get it shipped back ...

  • lost connection after firmware update. Tried everything, disconnecting, connecting etc, nothing works.

Why not just roll back the firmware?

  • Has ANYBODY using a Macbook air or Pro managed to find a solution for this yet?  I am having the same problem with the Tacx Neo 2T not connecting via BT to Zwift on my Macbook Air. Nothing wrong with my BT on my MB Air - it's connecting to other things seamlessly. On the Paired Devices page of Zwift I cannot connect a controllable trainer, nor my Garmin HR monitor nor my Garmin Vector 3 S pedals. Neo 2T will connect easily to Tacx app on phone, but of course no Tacx app for Apple Macbook products now, so can't test that.  Garmin PLEASE!!!
