Bluetooth dropouts with TDA

Hey guys

i just updated to win 10 1903, intel BT controller with 1903 compatible drivers

all other bt devices work well, but the neo 2t loses every once in a while the connection. I get an error message in the app which says „verbindung zu neo 2t verloren“

sometimes after 20 sec, mostly after about a minute, once after 25min. Very frustrating.

the garmin hr sensor (also connected via bt) stays connected...

reboot helped one time, but only this particular one time

the problem was the same with none win10 1903 compatible bt drivers.
i updatet the fw of the neo, problem was still there

any ideas?

  • I had an older laptop that I used with TDA and it worked fine, no dropouts. I then upgraded my pc to a gaming rig and it kept dropping the Bluetooth connection. The laptop used BT4.0 and my new rig was 5.0. I had disconnected the built in bluetooth (5.0), and bought a simple bluetooth dongle, which was BT 4.0, and I no longer get any dropouts with the new computer.

    Hope this helps.

  • same issue with my Macbook and the Tacx Desktop App

  • Guys, i bought another bt adaptor, it‘s a problem with the known win10 / bt problem

    1. I'm using a macbook
    2. I've turned off my cellphone
    3. I've disbaled the ANT Speed/Cadence sensor on the trainer

and nothing, if I use Tacx Desktop App I experience up to 10 dropouts during a Tacx Film simulation.

No dropout when I use Zwift or other application!

  • I'm having the same bluetooth dropouts on a MacBook Pro.  I suspect the issue is with interference from the SRAM e-tap shifters.  Is there a resolution?  I'm at the end of my TACX App trial period and if there is no resolution I will move forward with ZWIOFT - No dropout issue with ZWIFT.

I was able to solve the problem which is caused by the Bluetooth integrated on the Motherboard. I guess it simply was shielded too much by the housing of my PC. I bought an external bluetooth adapter and now everything works smoothly even though keyboard and mouse is connected as well. So to wrap up:

a.) Use the ANT+ Antenna from Tacx

b.) Use an external BT adapter/dongle which you connect on a USB-port

    Hope this helps

  • Which external bluetooth adapter you can use and buy for Macbook Laptop? Have you ever try to plug and use an external BT adapter on a new Macbook retina? It is quite hard or impossible to do it.

  • Thanks for the advice, I've been getting intermittent drop outs during videos and was going to try a plug in BT dongle - which version BT did you buy, 4 or 5?

Do you have to disable the pc internal  bluetooth?

Lastly, does the TDA software work with ANT+ ? - when I set the whole system up a couple of years ago, it was only Bluetooth compatible.
