Frequent connection dropouts with Edge 1030

I'm experiencing many connection dropouts during my workout between Edge 1030 and Neo 2T.

Here an example where you can see how many time the signal goes to ZERO values:

  • The reason you are probably not seeing dropouts on the Edge is because you're not using it to control the trainer.

I've only used the Tacx app once but only to record my workout to compare the results when testing the dropouts on the Edge for Garmin. I didn't get any dropouts on the Tacx app. The trainer was connected to the app over BT

Have you tried controlling the trainer from the Edge to see if you get dropouts & maybe monitor with the Tacx app. Feedback if you have done would be nice

  • Because I'm using the Tacx Movie simulations I cannot control the trainer with the Edge.

And when I connect the trainer directly to the Edge, I never use the desktop App and anyway I do not have any disconnection from the Edge.

  • I usually use the tablet Rouvy app to control the Tacx trainer. The edge 1030 is only used to synchronize the records and upload the garmin connect. If the Edge 1030 is only paired with the tacx power / speed & candence sensor, it will not drop the signal. If the Tacx trainer is paired, even I do n’t control the Tacx trainer, and I still frequently drop signals.

  • I have the same issue on a new Tacx Neo 2T in the year 2024 with the newest firmware!

    ANT+ on an Edge 530.

My other powermeters (pedal and crank based) have no dropouts at all.

  • I have a similar problem with intermittent sensor dropouts using a Garmin Descent Mk2. My Tacx Neo 2T is running the latest firmware 0.0.38 and is connected via ANT+ FE-C to my watch. The watch is also running the latest firmware. There is a clear line of sight from the watch on my left wrist to the trainer. Every few minutes the power data seems to drop out for about 4 seconds.

  • I have the same issue after 5 years!!!!

I have the "newest" firmware and the newest firmware on my new edge 540.

But over the ANT+ channel there are dropouts every 4-5 minutes!

The dropout on the old Edge 530 took 1-2 seconds, on the new Edge 540 takes 3-4 seconds per dropout!
